Peter Pirker

BIAAS awarded grant to Peter Pirker for $2,714 for a project to investigation of Operation Greenup conducted by the Office of Strategic Services. Pirker aims to make this transnational enterprise of resistance and liberation from National Socialism visible and understand transcultural transfers in the media. The project will result in a journal article as well as a book featuring essays and primary sources

Peter Pirker earned his Ph.D. in history from the University of Vienna and worked as a lecturer and researcher at the university. He has since lead a project on the politics of remembrance for the University of Vienna.
