Jonathan Ward Singerton

BIAAS issued a grant of $9,875 to Jonathan Ward Singerton study the relationship between the Habsburg Monarchy and United States during the second half of the eighteenth century and beginning of the nineteenth. The project aims to reveal the intense interest and connection between the two states from the very beginning in terms of initial diplomatic, economic, socio‑political, and cultural relations. The project is set to result in Singerton’s dissertation as well as scholarly articles and digital resource of Austro‑Americana.

Jonathan Ward Singerton is Ph.D. candidate in History at the University of Edinburgh and has served as a peer reviewer for the postgraduate history journal, Retrospectives.
