Lisa Sumner

BIAAS issued a $1,400 grant to Lisa Sumner to fund travel to US archives to study Ernest Dichter’s work in consumerism. The project funded two research trips, one to the Harman Center for Sales, Adverting, and Marketing History at Duke University and the other to the Center for the History of Business, Technology and Society at the Hagley Library. The project resulted in a number of presentations at conferences and research that contributed to articles in progress.

Lisa Sumner earned her Ph.D. in Communication at McGill University where she has since worked as an independent scholar and sessional instructor.
