Jonathan Sherry

BIAAS granted $8,000 to Jonathan Sherry to study Austrian émigrés’ roles in the Spanish Civil War and the American Cold War. The project involved travel to Barcelona to visit the Centro de Estudios Históricos Internacionales, the National Library of Catalonia, and the Biblioteca Universitat Autónoma de Barcelona.  The grant also provided for a trip to Amsterdam to present his research at the Council for European Studies. The funds of the grant cover airfare and lodging as well as language training and other research material. The project contributed to Sherry’s dissertation.

Jonathan Sherry is a Ph.D. candidate at the University of Pittsburgh studying Soviet involvement in the Spanish Civil War. He was awarded a Visiting Fulbright Researcher Grant for the 2015-2016 academic year at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona.
