Valparaiso University

BIAAS issued a grant to Jeremy Telman and Valparaiso University for $20,000 in order to fund an interdisciplinary conference focusing on Hans Kelsen’s influence on the fields of law, international relations, political theory, philosophy and sociology. The conference was held in June 2014 and had participants from the United States, Austria, Germany, Switzerland, and Turkey. Furthermore, the conference papers were then submitted and set to be published by Springer Verlag in a book entitled Hans Kelsen in America.


Jeremy Telman received his Ph.D. from Cornell University and his J.D. from New York University. He has taught at Valparaiso University and also served an international correspondent for the Hans Kelsen Institut in Vienna.
