Jeremy Eichler

Jeremy Eichler received a BIAAS grant to study the musical memorialization of the Second World War and the Holocaust.Eichler’s project focuses on key commemorative works (including those of Arnold Schoenberg), the idea of memorialization in sound, and the notion of music itself as a unique carrier of meaning about the past.


Jeremy Eichler earned his Ph.D. in history from Columbia University and has taught at Brandeis University. Since 2006, he has served as chief of classical music at The Boston Globe.
