Berthold Molden

BIAAS granted $6,000 to Berthold Molden to research the life of Austrian-born anthropologist, Friedrich Katz, for a contribution to the “Quiet Invaders” Revisited project. While the grant was delayed two years, the project resulted in research trips to Chicago, Philadelphia, Washington D.C., and Mexico. The project culminated in presentations at a number of conferences including at New Orleans and Vienna, with the Vienna presentation being included as a chapter in a volume to be published by Studien Verlag. Furthermore, the research contributed to work on a book manuscript and the planning of a museum exhibition.

Berthold Molden earned his Ph.D. from the University of Vienna in 2005 and currently works as a lecturer at the university. He has published four monographs and four edited volumes as well as dozen of scholarly articles on contemporary history.
