Austrian Cultural Forum New York

BIAAS funded a $33,000 grant for three events put on by the Austrian Cultural Forum. The majority of the grant funded an exhibition on Austria and the end of the Cold War to be presented in New York, Washington D.C., New Orleans, and Philadelphia. The two other projects focused on a literature and the creative arts, taking the form of lectures held at the ACF New York and various locations in the United States. The Austrian Cultural Forum also received an additional $7,000 grant later in the year to cover the cost of a ceremony for a translation prize for translating Austrian literature into English, as well as, to fund a lecture on the role of coffeehouses on culture.


Austrian Cultural Forum New York is the main cultural embassy of the Republic of Austria in New York and the United States. The Forum’s mission is to showcase Austrian art, music, film, theater, and literature to an American audience.
