Sabine Brauckmann

BIAAS issued a grant for $19,350 to Sabine Brauckmann in order to research the influence of Austrian scientists, Paul A. Weiss and Stephen W. Kuffle, on American scientists in the field of neuroscience. The project involves three months of research at various universities and research institutes in the United States, such as the Neuroscience History Archive of UCLA, Johns Hopkins University, and the National Library of Medicine. The purpose of the grant was to fund research resulting in two journal articles and an academic presentation as well as funding a workshop on an Austrian-American history of neurobiology to be held in Vienna in July 2016.


Sabine Brauckmann earned her Ph.D. from the University of Muenster and has worked as a senior researcher at the Estonian Institute of Humanities, Tallinn University.
