Ian Verstegen

BIAAS issued a grant for $4,100 to Ian Verstegen in order to conduct research on Otto Pächt at the Institute for Art History at the University of Vienna. The project included a month long trip to Vienna to conduct research and digitize the Pächt collection and make it available for online use. The grant aided in research for Verstegen’s book The New Vienna School of Art History and as well as an article for the Wiener Jahrbuch für Kunstgeschichte.


Ian Verstegen received his Ph.D. at the Tyler School of Art, Temple University and has worked as an adjunct instructor and Associate Director of Visual Studies at the University of Pennsylvania.
