Hester Margreiter

BIAAS awarded a grant for $6,565 to Hester Margreiter in order to study the developments in tourism in Innsbruck (Tyrol) and New Orleans (Louisiana). By doing so Margreiter seeks to answer if the local development of tourism and the impact on the local population can be explained in general concepts of structural (social and economic) history. The grant will fund a month in New Orleans for research and will result in Margreiter’s dissertation as well as an article and conference presentation.

Hester Margreiter is a Ph.D. student in the Department of History at the University of Salzburg.
