Edward Muston

BIAAS awarded Edward Muston a grant for $2,500 in order to research Peter Handke’s newly available archival material in order to re-assess his major works and evaluate his work on Serbia in light of his writings on American. The project funded three weeks of research in Vienna, in which Muston examined Handke’s notebooks and a number of important photographs. The project contribute to an in progress article “The Borders Within: Negotiating Austro-Slovenian Identity in the Works of Peter Handke and Maja Haderlap.”


Edward Muston received his Ph.D. in Comparative Literature from Princeton University in 2011 and has worked as a Visiting Assistant Professor of German at Franklin and Marshall College.
