Edward Muston

BIAAS gave a grant to Edward Muston to conduct research in support of his book project “American Ghosts: Das Amerikabild in Contemporary Austrian Literature.”
The project argues for the USA as an important real or imagined destination that frequently inflects stories of migration in Austria. BIAAS funding will support travel to Austria and interviews with authors in Vienna and Salzburg.

Edward Muston received his PhD in Comparative Literature from Princeton University. He is currently an Assistant Professor of German at Beloit College. He has taught at Bowdoin College where he was an Andrew W. Mellon Postdoctoral Fellow in 2012 as well as Dickinson College and Franklin and Marshall College.
