Andrea Orzoff

Andrea Orzoff was awarded $25,000 to support research on classical musicians fleeing Nazi Europe for the global South. The project examines how these peoples became transatlantic and pan-American translators and transmitters of Central European musical practices, repertoires, and pedagogy. The fellowship funds a month in Mexico City for research as well as trips to Peru, Bolivia and Texas. The project is set to result in a scholarly monograph and at least one scholarly article.

Andrea Orzoff earned a Ph.D. in Modern European History from Stanford University and has taught at the New Mexico State University since 1999.
