Anna Katharina Windisch

BIAAS granted Anna Katharina Windisch $5,000 in order to study silent film music practices comparing Vienna and New York and evaluate the cultural transfer between the two. The project involved two research trips to the University of Minnesota to examine the Arthur Kleiner Collection, which contains over 700 music scores for silent films. Windisch’s research resulted in a chapter of her dissertation as well as a paper presentation at the Austrian Studies Conference with the paper’s publication in the Austrian History Yearbook 2017.


Anna Katharina Windisch is a Ph.D. candidate at the University of Vienna has been a Doctoral Fellow at the Austrian Academy of Sciences.
