Vera Kropf

BIAAS issued a grant for $6,700 to Vera Kropf in order to study Ilse Lichtblau Lahn’s role in the film industry during the mid-20th century. The project will examine Lahn’s relations and role within the Hollywood émigré community. The grant funded travel to the United States to conduct research in Los Angles, New York, and Philadelphia. The goal of the project produced a paper for the “Doing Gender in Exile” conference at the University of Vienna as well as plans for an exhibit at the Jewish Museum in Vienna.


Vera Kropf is a Ph.D. student at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna and was the 2015/16 Research Fellow at the Center Austria.
