BIAAS issued a grant for $11,000 to Carol Seigel to fund an international symposium on Anna Freud and Dorothy Tiffany Burlingham’s Hietzing school in 1920s Vienna. The purpose of this project is to reflect on the origins, experience and enduring influence of the school on education and child psychology. The symposium was held on May of 2017 at Anna Freud National Center for Children and Families and featured eight scholars from the United States, Austria, France, and England.

Carol Seigel studied history at Cambridge University and as served as the Curator of Social History at the Jewish Museum and the director of the Freud Museum.
