Celebrating István Deák: Historian, Teacher, Provocateur

On Friday, October 6th, the Botstiber Institute for Austrian-American Studies, in partnership with Columbia University’s Department of History and the Harriman Institute, will hold the conference, “Celebrating István Deák: Historian, Teacher, Provocateur” in honor of Hungarian-American historian István Deák (1926-2023).

Volume seven of the Journal of Austrian-American History includes 14 essays on the life and contributions of István Deák, with his former student, the University of Miami’s Dominique Kirchner Reill, as guest editor.

The journal is available in print and open-access.
