Congratulations to our 2020 award recipients. View our Database of Funded Research to learn more about the scholars/organizations and their projects which highlight the historic relationship between the United States and Austria. Projects and events funded include: archival research, articles, books, conferences/symposia, digital projects, documentary films, exhibits, lectures, and workshops.

These projects expand the breadth and scope of Austrian-American Studies, examining topics as diverse as gender relations in Allied-occupied Vienna (1945-1955), emergency medical services in Austria and the United States, 19th century spa towns as centers of innovation, the “moral biography” of the 1921 U.S.-Austria Peace Treaty, Habsburg Austrian culture in Colorado mountain communities, and more.

The Botstiber Institute of Austrian-American Studies is privileged to support the dynamic and important work of all the 2020 grantees.
