“I am conducting research on the German-speaking cabaret “Die Arche” which played in New York during World War II, from January 1943 to December 1944. This political cabaret was created by Austrian Zionists who had fled Europe. Though “Die Arche” I want to understand how Austrian Zionist maintained and reshaped their networks in exile, how cabaret helped them maintaining political agency, and how other Austrian refugees responded to this Zionist activism.”
