Dr. Anton Pelinka, professor of political science and nationalism studies, shares his insights regarding U.S. and Austria relations since WWII with Dr. Gary Cohen, Professor Emeritus of History at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities, during an interview on May 11, 2019. In this segment of their interview, Dr. Pelinka explains “the politics of the lesser evil.” Drawing lessons from WWII, Dr. Pelinka questions the pursuit of a “perfect society” based upon emotional and idealistic cultural visions within a democracy.
